Founded in 1950, Denver Seminary is an interdenominational, evangelical graduate seminary serving students from around the world. In its 57-year history, the seminary has gained the reputation as one of the top twenty schools in size among accredited, graduate-level seminaries in the U.S. and Canada and is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools, and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Currently, more than 900 students are enrolled in the school’s diverse programs.
“DemSem” collaborated with Spoke and our web presence partner, Monk Development, to create a world-class set of web sites that would attract potential students and provide valuable resources to existing students as well as alumni. Through a comprehensive design process, wireframing and UI consulting, a clean and intuitive design was created to encourage visitors to quickly and easily find the content they sought, and take action.
Since it launched, DenverSeminary.edu has been greeted with tremendous success and acclaim (which is nice, but not necessary). Site visits have increased 57%. Online giving is up 360%. Online enrollment had increased substantially, and the site has been featured in The EduStyle Guide To Usable Higher-Ed Homepage Design, Web Cream, Unmatched Style, CSS Remix and Godbit. Most recently, the site won a Silver Astral Award in overall design, content and back-end code, which allows website users to peruse information quickly and efficiently. This award is given to only 5% of Astral web award applicants.
In April, 2010, DenverSeminary.edu was given a facelift in order to direct user communities to relevant content faster and easier. The homepage was completely re-architected and redesigned, and these new visual assets were carried throughout the site via rebuilt headers and footers. Commonly accessed tools were brought forward for the benefit of frequent visitors, while video vignettes were added to share the DenSem story with new visitors.
